Founded in August 2009, Dark Horse Express began with 1 truck and 1 trailer, aiming to provide excellent service and open, clear communication, with the plan of growing when and where it made sense. We are currently operating 30 late model trucks and 50 temp-control refrigerated trailers. We have proudly served the same customer base since beginning operations. We are loyal and do not abandon our customers to chase spot-market freight.

We employ the latest technology in our trucks and trailers, equipping each tractor with Omnitracs/Qualcomm GPS tracking, as well as enabling the drivers with handheld devices for reporting in/out times, as well as the ability to transmit BOL/POD’s from the cab of their truck. To protect the integrity of our refrigerated shipments, all trailers have iBright or Orbcomm GPS and temperature monitoring, enabling our dispatch crew to see temperature, fuel levels and run downloads remotely. Safety is the only way we can continue to grow.

Our commitment to technology flows through to our operations, where customers can view and track all loads, whether dispatched or not, from their PC or smartphone. All Invoices can be sent electronically, and we have EDI capability if needed.
